One of the core values emphasized by EYEDELTA Systems is that true progress and innovation can only be achieved through constructive debate and argument, with criticism directed at inefficiencies rather than individual beliefs. Under Research, new papers in the areas of traffic and transportation infrastructure will be released with the goal of challenging existing perspectives and providing additional insight into ongoing crises and their proposed solutions.

To reinforce this value, all readers are encouraged to engage with the content and share their views through suggestions, potential partnerships for future papers, constructive criticism, or other contributions. The contact form provided under the Contact page can be used for further discussion.

LEading Through Discussion

Dynamic-link risk intelligence

On the Queen Elizabeth Way between Brant Street and Trafalgar Road, the Ministry of Transportation Ontario had installed between 20 and 30 side-fire radar traffic sensors for monitoring vehicle speeds, flow, and occupancy as of January 2026. This stretch of freeway is less than 20 km long, and with thousands of kilometres of major highway infrastructure across the province, these systems, along with road-weather information systems (RWIS), cost well into the millions.

With much of their use focused on supporting long-term transportation planning decisions and, in some instances, updating overhead variable message signs, these systems are rarely used to their full potential. More can be done to ensure drivers, especially freight traffic, are better informed in the context of incident prevention.

Highway 407 Express Toll route: Overview and added safety measures

What remains arguably Canada’s most controversial infrastructure privatization in history, Highway 407 Express Toll Route (ETR) serves millions of trips each year as drivers seek to bypass traffic on Highway 401 and other major routes. As traffic levels increase year over year in the region, demand for faster alternatives rises with them, making 407 International Incorporated a highly profitable company through recurring per-kilometre toll revenue and transponder leasing.

While its infrastructure remains well-engineered and is supported by strong revenue growth and prudent debt management, existing systems can be further optimized to help minimize collision risk for users during the winter season.
